Bora Bora
French Polynesia · Society Islands
Bora Bora's turquoise lagoon is ringed by a coral barrier reef sheltering lemon sharks, blacktip reef sharks, and eagle rays that glide over coral bommies in shallow water. The passes cutting through the barrier — particularly Teavanui — funnel nutrient-rich currents that draw large pelagics. Visibility routinely exceeds 30 meters, and the calm lagoon makes it accessible to every level of diver.
