Ilha Guarita
Abrolhos Banks · Brazil
Ilha Guarita sits at the heart of the Abrolhos Marine National Park and offers some of the most sheltered and accessible diving in the archipelago, with chapeirão formations starting just below the surface in gin-clear water. The island's protected status has allowed reef fish populations to recover to extraordinary densities — schools of goatfish, grunts, and snappers fill every channel between the coral pillars. Hawksbill and green sea turtles rest on the reef flats in numbers rarely seen anywhere else along the Brazilian coast.
