Kal's Dream

Alor · Indonesia

Kal's Dream is a muck diving site in Alor that has become famous among macro photographers for its extraordinary density of nudibranchs, ghostpipefish, and flatworms across a rubble and sand slope running from 5 to 25 meters. More than 50 nudibranch species have been catalogued here on a single dive by dedicated macro hunters, and the site regularly produces new species records for the region. The dark volcanic sand provides striking photographic contrast for colorful subjects, and the protected bay setting keeps current and surge minimal even on blustery days.
