Giant trevally hunt in coordinated groups through the channel, exploiting the strong tidal currents to ambush schooling fish compressed against the reef. They are highly site-faithful and frequently use the same ambush points across tidal cycles. Large individuals weighing over 30 kilograms are regularly encountered at this site.
