Jemeluk Coral Garden

Amed & Jemeluk Bay · Indonesia

Jemeluk Bay's signature shallow dive, where a gently sloping reef runs from waist-deep water to 18 metres over a canvas of hard and soft corals in excellent condition. Table corals dominate the upper section and give way to branching staghorns lower down, interspersed with barrel sponges, feather stars, and cleaning stations busy with blue-streak cleaner wrasse. Green turtles graze the seagrass patches at the bay's inner edge. The protected nature of the bay keeps currents negligible and the water calm on all but the worst swell days, making this a reliable certification and refresher site as well as a superb first dive of the day for macro photographers.
