Caribbean reef sharks patrol the outer wall and channel edges, drawn by the nutrient upwelling from the Tongue of the Ocean. They are apex predators here, keeping reef fish populations balanced and creating a benchmark for reef ecosystem health. Groups of 5 to 15 individuals are regularly observed on afternoon dives, with activity peaking on incoming tides.
