Andros has more blue holes than anywhere else on Earth — over 200 inland freshwater caves and more than 50 ocean blue holes that drop vertically through the limestone plateau. The inland holes are a surreal mix of fresh water floating above a denser saltwater layer, and the halocline creates a shimmering, mirror-like distortion that has to be seen to be believed. Ocean blue holes are colonized by dense schools of glassy sweepers and silversides, with bull sharks occasionally ascending from below.
