Trumpet Reef
Andros · Bahamas
Trumpet Reef is a classic Bahamian shallow-to-wall dive named for the clusters of trumpetfish that hover motionless among sea rods, mimicking their posture to ambush prey. The reef rises to within 4 m of the surface before its eastern face drops away in a vertical wall down to 40 m, with the upper sections densely colonized by brain corals, pillar corals, and acres of sea plumes swaying in the surge. It is an excellent multi-level dive that caters equally to newer divers on the crest and experienced divers exploring the wall's deeper ledges.
