Prickly Pear Reef
Anguilla · Anguilla
Prickly Pear Cays to Anguilla's northwest are ringed by a double reef system — a shallow inner coral garden at 6 to 12 metres and a deeper outer wall that drops to 30 metres draped with sea fans, black coral, and enormous barrel sponges. Eagle rays are regularly spotted cruising the sandy channels, while loggerhead turtles rest on the broad coral shelves. The exposed position creates gentle currents that attract open-water pelagics including Atlantic spadefish and jacks.
