Bethlehem

Dive site

Bethlehem is a gently sloping reef running from 5 to 28 meters that is renowned among Anilao regulars for the sheer diversity of crinoid species draping its boulders and coral outcrops. More than 20 feather star species have been documented at a single visit, and each one shelters its own crinoid squat lobster, crinoid shrimp, and clingfish. The rubble zones between boulders host flamboyant cuttlefish, robust ghost pipefish, and periodic appearances of the rare Hapalochlaena blue-ringed octopus. The site suits photographers who prefer a leisurely pace over a single dramatic subject.
