Underwater at South Wall

South Wall

Ant Atoll · Micronesia

The South Wall is Ant Atoll's most dramatic vertical dive, a sheer drop from the reef crest at 6 metres down past 40 metres, with the wall face covered in pristine sea fans, black coral trees, and large barrel sponges. Hawksbill and green turtles rest on ledges along the upper section of the wall, accustomed to the rare visiting diver. The blue water off the wall regularly produces pelagic sightings including wahoo, dogtooth tuna, and occasional whale sharks during the inter-monsoon months of April through June.
