Dolphin Point
Astola Island · Pakistan
The western point of Astola is where spinner and common dolphins consistently gather, often joining divers in the water for extended encounters. Below the surface the terrain is a broken rocky reef with sand channels, decorated with encrusting corals and sponges and populated by octopus, cuttlefish, and morays. Macro photographers will find excellent subjects in the rubble zones while wide-angle shooters wait for the dolphins to come in close. Conditions are typically calmer here than on the exposed eastern and northern faces.
