Princesa Sperm Whale Corridor

The deep channel between Faial and Pico islands is one of the most reliably productive sperm whale watching and snorkelling corridors in the world, with year-round resident pods and surface-active individuals making in-water encounters possible almost daily from May through October. Mothers with calves are frequently encountered in the calmer months, while bachelor groups of large bulls pass through in late summer.
