Um Al Naasan Island
Bahrain · Bahrain
Um Al Naasan is a quiet uninhabited island off Bahrain's west coast whose surrounding reefs are rarely dived and harbour some of the healthiest natural coral communities in the country. The reef walls drop steeply to sand flats where eagle rays glide in formation, and the open water above the reef edge is patrolled by Spanish mackerel and bumphead parrotfish in the cooler winter months. The island's isolation means fish populations are intact and encounters feel genuinely wild.
