Green sea turtles graze seagrass and algae, and their sustained grazing keeps seagrass beds healthy and nutrient-cycling. At Menjangan the wall's sandy ledges are resting spots for adults; at shallower depths turtles actively graze the reef crest. A nesting beach on the island means divers may encounter juveniles as well as adults, making this one of the few Bali sites where the full life-stage mix is observable.

Green sea turtle is listed as a curated species here based on historical reports.

How is this calculated?

Sighting evidence is compiled from iNaturalist observation records within a set proximity radius, filtered for quality-grade observations. “Last confirmed” is the date of the most recent research-grade record. Record count covers a rolling 24-month window. Confidence reflects record count, recency, and consistency of seasonal signal.
