Banda Besar Wall
Banda Sea · Indonesia
Banda Besar Wall is a cathedral-scale vertical drop starting just below the surface and plunging past 70 meters, its face encrusted in some of the most spectacular gorgonian fans and black coral trees in Indonesia. Scalloped hammerhead sharks circle in the blue water off the wall's face, while schooling barracuda form massive silver columns near the surface. The volcanic origin of the Banda Islands gives the wall an otherworldly geology — undercut overhangs and lava channels create swim-through opportunities draped in crinoids.
