Underwater at Nailaka Drift

Nailaka Drift

Banda Sea · Indonesia

The exposed northwest tip of Pulau Run generates a powerful drift that sweeps divers along a coral-encrusted slope teeming with reef sharks and Napoleon wrasse. Nailaka is one of the few sites in the Banda arc where oceanic manta rays appear reliably from November through February, rising from deeper water to feed in the nutrient-rich upwelling. A genuine blue-water experience in a remote island setting.
