SS Stavronikita
Barbados · Barbados
The Stavronikita is a 111 m Greek cargo vessel deliberately scuttled in 1978 and now the premier technical wreck dive in Barbados. The ship sits upright on a sandy bottom at 40 m with the bow at 12 m and the stern rail at 42 m. The superstructure is draped in orange cup corals and black durgeon triggerfish hover in dense schools around the mast. Multiple penetration routes through the cargo holds and engine room reward divers with lights and overhead experience. Deep certification is strongly recommended.
