Pulau Noko Reef
Bawean Island · Indonesia
Pulau Noko is a small uninhabited islet off Bawean's northwest coast, surrounded by an extensive hard coral garden that has seen virtually no fishing pressure. Plate corals the size of dining tables grow at mid-depth, and the shallows burst with chromis, anthias, and damselfish in improbable numbers. Green turtles are permanent residents and bumphead parrotfish visit in small groups at dawn.
