Siladen North Wall
Bunaken National Park — Outer Islands · Indonesia
The north face of Siladen island runs as a continuous vertical wall from the reef crest at 3 m to a sand terrace at 40 m, then continues steeply to 70 m. Hard coral coverage near the surface is among the highest recorded in the park — dense Acropora tables and massive Porites bommies dominate the upper 15 m. Barracuda form large aggregations at the north-east corner. Napoleon wrasse patrol the deeper section regularly. The small island's position in open water means plankton-rich upwellings and frequent pelagic passes.
