Underwater at Busua Gardens

Busua Gardens

Dive site

A gently sloping reef garden immediately offshore from Busua village, starting at 4 metres and descending to 20 metres across a mosaic of coral heads, sand channels, and rubble fields. Particularly good for macro photography, with frogfish, seahorses, and juvenile fish sheltering in the coral rubble. The site is Ghana's most accessible dive, suitable for newly certified divers, and is also productive for night diving when cuttlefish hunt over the sand channels. Sergeant major damselfish guard purple egg masses on flat rock surfaces while peacock flounders bury in the sand between coral patches.
