Turtle Reef
Dive site
A broad rocky reef platform at 6 to 18 metres directly below one of Ghana's most important olive ridley turtle nesting beaches. Green and olive ridley turtles are encountered on almost every dive, resting on coral heads or grazing on sponge. Schools of blue-striped grunt, yellowtail snapper, and Atlantic goatfish cover the reef surface, and Guinea pufferfish — a species essentially endemic to the Gulf of Guinea — are common at this site. Cleaning stations with large bluehead wrasse and reef butterflyfish are active throughout the day.
