White Island Channel
Camiguin · Philippines
The shallow sandbar of White Island creates a natural channel between the island and Camiguin's northern shore, and the tidal flow through this gap concentrates fish and marine life in volumes that surprise first-time visitors. The seafloor here is a mix of black volcanic sand, rubble, and healthy coral patches — classic muck diving territory. Thorough searching rewards divers with flamboyant cuttlefish, frogfish in multiple colour morphs, harlequin ghost pipefish, and a rotating cast of nudibranchs. The site suits all levels and doubles as an excellent night dive when the bioluminescent plankton activates after dark.
