Underwater at Candidasa Reef

Candidasa Reef

Candidasa · Indonesia

The fringing reef directly in front of Candidasa village provides an accessible shore and boat dive with coral gardens and sandy patches frequented by macro life. Nudibranchs, flatworms, pipefish, and frogfish are regularly found here, along with resident hawksbill turtles grazing on sponges. Large schools of barracuda are a signature of this site, gathering in the mid-water column. Conditions are gentler than the offshore gilis, making this a good option for less experienced divers or as a second dive.
