Hotels, dive operators, gear, and how to get here are on the Riviera Maya Cenotes location page.

Overview

Two crystal-clear sinkholes connected by a vast cavern system south of Tulum. Open cavern routes (Barbie Line and Bat Cave Line) keep daylight in view while halocline shimmer and stalactite forests light up under a primary beam. Freshwater, no current, and otherworldly clarity.

Briefing note

Cavern-trained guide required. Stay on the line — no penetration past daylight zone without full cave cert.

How we summarise this

We aggregate confirmed occurrence records from GBIF and OBIS within a fixed radius of each dive site. Occurrence records confirm presence and reveal seasonality clustering, but they DO NOT measure per-dive probability — there is no eligible-effort denominator. We deliberately do not publish a numeric '% chance of sighting' from this data.
