Overview
Japanese armed water-and-supply transport sunk during Operation Hailstone in February 1944. She sits upright with a list to port, holds packed with war materiel — artillery shells, sea mines, gas masks and crockery. A Japanese light tank still rests on the deck and three field howitzers lie aft; the bridge telegraph and ship’s helm remain in place. Hard and soft coral now sheath the railings, with the shallowest mast around 21 m and the deck near 30 m.
Briefing note
Deck at ~30 m and the tank near 38 m make this a deep dive; bottom is ~42 m. Penetration requires wreck certification. Live ordnance and human remains are present — show respect and take nothing.
