Agios Gordios Reef
Corfu · Greece
Agios Gordios is Corfu's premier drift site — a submerged reef system running south from the bay where Ionian currents push past and carry with them a seasonal procession of pelagics that make this the most exciting dive on the island. Barracuda schools and occasional swordfish have been reported in the blue above the reef crest, while loggerhead turtles use the posidonia meadows on the sheltered eastern flank as a grazing ground. The reef drops in a series of terraces from 5 metres to 28 metres, each ledge hosting its own community of wrasse, damselfish, and encrusting invertebrates.
