Morazan Maru

Dive site

The Morazan Maru is a 140-meter Japanese cargo freighter sunk on 24 September 1944 and now resting on its starboard side at 16 to 32 meters. The hold cargo — including porcelain bowls, gas masks, and sake bottles — is still partially visible, making it one of Coron's most historically evocative wrecks. Its superstructure is heavily encrusted with oysters and sponges, and a permanent resident school of yellowfin trevally circles the stern. The bridge and engine room are swimthroughs accessible to recreational divers on the second dive of the day when nitrogen loading allows.
