Taiei Maru

Dive site

The Taiei Maru is a 130-meter Japanese supply ship resting upright at 18 to 34 meters, making it one of Coron's most diver-friendly wrecks for structural exploration. The cargo deck retains visible winches, capstans, and rigging coated in encrusting corals, and the midship holds are open enough to enter without specialised penetration equipment. A cleaning station near the bow consistently draws batfish and sweetlips. Soft corals and sea fans have established particularly lush colonies on the stern gun mount, a popular subject for wide-angle photographers.
