Kogyo Maru
Coron · Philippines
The Kogyo Maru is a 164-meter Japanese cargo ship lying on its side at 24 to 45 meters, its tilted superstructure creating vertiginous swim-through opportunities and dramatic wide-angle compositions. The hull lists at roughly 60 degrees, so what was once a corridor becomes a vertical shaft and each passage demands good buoyancy control. Dense anthias clouds, robust encrusting corals, and occasional reef sharks circling the bow make this one of Coron's most atmospheric wrecks.
