Elbo Wall
Dive site
A long, south-facing vertical wall running 200 metres inside Scandola's inner bay. Below 25 metres the rock is smothered in orange sponge colonies and the occasional black coral tree; above, gorgonians alternate with posidonia meadow where the wall angle eases. Dusky grouper dominate, but the site is also one of the most reliable in France for seeing the electric-blue flash of ornate wrasse — a smaller, painterly species rarely noticed by divers focused on the big fish.
