Gargalo Point
Dive site
The northernmost accessible point of the Scandola Reserve, Gargalo juts into open water and concentrates oceanic species alongside the resident Mediterranean community. Osprey nest on the cliffs above; underwater, large shoals of Atlantic horse mackerel and bogues move with the current over a mixed ground of porphyry boulders and posidonia. Loggerhead turtles are sighted here more often than anywhere else on the Corsican west coast.
