Scandola holds one of the Mediterranean's densest grouper populations thanks to decades of full protection. These powerful predators, reaching up to 1.5 m, hold territory around the volcanic rock formations and show little fear of divers. Juveniles shelter in shallower posidonia beds while large adults command the deeper reefscape.

How is this calculated?
