Morays inhabit virtually every crevice of Scandola's complex volcanic rock, often with multiple individuals sharing a single overhang. They are most active at dusk and night when they hunt octopus and fish across the open reef. Their presence in such density signals a healthy, structurally complex reef ecosystem.
