Fabian Pinnacles
Jardines de la Reina · Cuba
Fabian Pinnacles is the signature shark dive of Jardines de la Reina — a cluster of coral pinnacles rising from a sand flat at 25 m where liveaboard divemasters have conducted daily feeds for over two decades, establishing a resident population of Caribbean reef sharks that arrive the moment divers descend. Up to 20 sharks circle the pinnacles continuously while silky sharks patrol the mid-water column above. The corals on the pinnacle faces are in extraordinary condition — dense stands of star coral and brain coral with branching gorgonians at depth — and green sea turtles graze the rubble between pinnacles with complete indifference to divers. This is one of very few sites in the Caribbean where both reef shark species are reliably encountered on the same dive.
