Underwater at Ayia Napa Rocky Reef

Ayia Napa Rocky Reef

Dive site

The rocky coastline east of Ayia Napa supports a surprisingly productive reef system given the town's reputation as a party destination. Boulders tumble from 3 metres down to 25, creating a maze of swimthroughs and overhangs packed with white seabream, two-banded seabream, and saddled seabream in numbers that reward anyone who has wondered where all the Mediterranean fish went. Mediterranean moray eels are common; octopus are almost always visible on a single dive. Night diving here reveals sleeping parrotfish, hunting moray, and bioluminescent plankton in summer. A great option for divers combining a Cyprus holiday with a resort.
