Underwater at Cape Greco Underwater Caves

Cape Greco Underwater Caves

Dive site

The limestone headland of Cape Greco is riddled with sea caves, arches, and swimthroughs that continue below the waterline into a labyrinth unique in the eastern Mediterranean. The most dramatic feature — a natural arch at 18 metres — frames open-water views that draw photographers from across Europe. Inside the cave system, Mediterranean slipper lobster press against the roof in clusters; moray eels reach impressive size in the darkness. Torch required; the swim-throughs are spacious enough for recreational divers but require buoyancy control.
