The Bells
Dahab · Egypt
The Bells is one of the most thrilling entry points in the Red Sea, a narrow chimney in the reef that you squeeze through feet-first as the current pulls you down and out into open blue water at around 27 m. From there the reef wall sweeps away in both directions, covered in giant sea fans and healthy table corals, and the drift carries you north toward the Blue Hole in a flowing, effortless glide. Pelagic fish hang in the blue water beside you, and the sensation of flying along a living wall is pure joy. The challenge lies in managing buoyancy tightly in the chimney before the current takes hold.
