Cement Factory Wreck
Dubai · United Arab Emirates
A large decommissioned cement barge was intentionally sunk to create artificial reef habitat and now rests upright in 18 metres of water, its holds completely colonised by hard and soft corals. Lionfish hover motionless in every shadow while vast shoals of yellowfin goatfish carpet the sandy bottom around the hull. This is one of Dubai's most photogenic wreck dives, combining macro subjects on the encrusted hull with wide-angle shots of schooling fish above.
