These large, docile sharks rest in groups under overhangs and in cave-like depressions around the base of the pinnacle, their pale tawny bodies pressed together in a pile that can number six or more individuals. They feed nocturnally on reef fish, octopus, and crustaceans, using powerful suction to extract prey from crevices. Dibba Rock is one of the most reliable sites in the region for close, calm encounters with this species.
