Overview
A 75 m steel supply ship that struck Big Brother in storm winds on 15 September 1957 while offloading personnel for the island lighthouse. The hull broke in two: the engine block lies wedged on the reef at 7 m where the surf caught her, the bow rests against the wall at 30 m, the deck and railings run down past 50 m, and the propeller sits at 65 m for tech divers only. Soft corals and gorgonians now sheath every steel rib, clouds of glassfish boil through the holds, and grey reef sharks cruise the blue off her stern. She lies a few hundred metres along the same north reef as the Numidia and is almost always run as the second dive of the day.
Briefing note
Brothers Marine Park is liveaboard only and generally accessible from March to October. The Aida descends a near vertical wall: engine block at 7 m, bow at 30 m, midship past 50 m and propeller at 65 m, so the lower hull is technical or trimix only. Strong, unpredictable currents off the point demand reef hooks and SMBs.
