Nora Island — Coral Garden
Eritrea — Dahlak Archipelago · Eritrea
Nora Island's western lagoon is one of the shallowest and most sheltered dive sites in the Dahlak Archipelago, making it the default entry for newly arrived live-aboard guests and an ideal site for a second or third dive of the day. The coral garden extends from the surface to about 14 metres in water so clear it can feel surreal. Giant clams up to a metre across are embedded in the reef flat. Parrotfish, triggerfish, and pufferfish work the coral in large numbers. The seagrass pockets inside the lagoon hold juvenile fish in extraordinary variety. Bottlenose dolphins visit regularly, often approaching divers with curiosity.
