Tantabiddi Wall
Exmouth · Australia
The outer edge of Ningaloo Reef drops steeply here, forming a dramatic wall that begins at 6 metres and falls beyond sport diving limits. Sea fans and black coral line the deeper sections, while the shallower reef top is all hard corals and active fish life. Strong incoming tides push nutrient-rich water up the wall, attracting large schools of fish and triggering feeding frenzies by trevally and mackerel. Whale sharks aggregate nearby during the March to July season.
