Ottoman Wreck at Tersane Island
Fethiye / Göcek · Turkey
A coral-encrusted Ottoman-era vessel resting in a sheltered cove off Tersane Island, surrounded by the crumbling stonework of an old shipyard whose walls descend into clear turquoise shallows. The wreck sits upright between 12 and 22 metres, its hull densely colonised by sponges, cup corals, and red gorgonians that attract a rich community of reef fish. Moray eels occupy every gap between timbers while schools of damselfish shimmer above the encrusted superstructure, creating a scene that feels like a living history exhibit.
