Shaab Sataya (Dolphin Reef)
Fury Shoals · Egypt
Shaab Sataya hosts one of the most famous dolphin encounters in the diving world, with a permanent resident pod of 50 to 200 spinner dolphins sheltering in the lagoon each morning before heading offshore to hunt. The protected inner lagoon is a safe haven for the pod to rest and socialise, meaning divers who enter quietly and move with the dolphins — not toward them — are rewarded with extended, entirely wildlife-led encounters. The surrounding reef system is spectacular in its own right, with pristine coral gardens, circling sharks, and visibility that regularly exceeds 30 m.
