Underwater at Cemetery Wall & Snapper Hole

Cemetery Wall & Snapper Hole

Dive site

Cemetery Wall is named for the small cemetery visible on shore directly above the dive site and is one of the richest sections of Grand Cayman's west wall — a near-vertical face from 15 m plunging past 30 m, draped in deepwater sea fans and encrusting sponges. Adjacent to the wall, Snapper Hole is a natural depression on the reef flat at 12 m where hundreds of yellowtail and dog snappers aggregate in dense rotating columns throughout the year. The combination makes this a classic two-stop dive — work the wall for pelagics and sponges, then fin back up to Snapper Hole for the fish aggregation before ascending.
