Dragon Bay
Grenada · Grenada
A sheltered bay on Grenada's southern tip where a sunken volcanic ridge drops from 5 metres to over 40 metres in a series of stepped terraces draped in deep-water gorgonians and black coral. The site earned its name from the resident population of frogfish — their warty, algae-encrusted bodies and lure-waving behaviour giving them a mythological appearance on the dark substrate. Occasional seahorses and rare ghost pipefish appear seasonally in the shallower rubble zones.
