Jardin de Corail
Guadeloupe · France
Jardin de Corail (Coral Garden) sits on the northern tip of Pigeon Island and offers the most spectacular hard coral growth in the entire Cousteau Reserve. Enormous pillar corals — a species now rare across the wider Caribbean — rise like cathedral columns from the plateau at 10 to 20 metres, draped with large sea fans that shelter queen triggerfish and ocean triggerfish. The site regularly hosts southern stingrays gliding across the white sand channels between coral heads.
