Shaab Abu Ramada
Hurghada · Egypt
Shaab Abu Ramada is known locally as the Aquarium, and after one dive here you will understand exactly why! The coral garden spreads across a broad sandy plateau studded with pinnacles and bommies that rise from 18 m to within 5 m of the surface, and every square meter of reef is occupied by something extraordinary. Thousands of anthias hover in shimmering curtains, parrotfish graze the coral heads with audible crunching bites, and large sea turtles cruise the rubble bottom completely unbothered by divers. Moray eels occupy virtually every crevice, and the cleaning stations at the base of each pinnacle host a steady procession of reef fish waiting their turn. This is an outstanding beginner and intermediate dive with no current and exceptional fish density.
