Cap Blanc's cave systems shelter an exceptional density of Mediterranean moray eels, which use the rock fissures as permanent territories from which they ambush fish and octopus. Large individuals over 1.2 m occupy the deeper cave sections, sometimes sharing overhangs with conger eels in a rare cohabitation. Their presence throughout the year makes moray encounters essentially guaranteed at this site.
